Environmental Analyst (Chemist)

Job Summary

The Candidate must be a problem solver who is always ready to use initiative. He/She must be very good with Chemical Analysis. We are looking for a dedicated, Environmental Chemist that is flexible in both field sample collection and analysis of Environmental samples, result interpretation, and report preparation.

  • Minimum Qualification: MBA / MSc
  • Experience Level: Senior level
  • Experience Length: 9 years

Job Description/Requirements

The Environmental analyst's responsibilities include:

  • Participate in Environmental field assignments for several projects.
  • Apply existing test methods and procedures to complete the required analytical testing
  • Apply analytical chemistry knowledge to find a creative way to analyze specific parameters, when existing test methods are not relevant.
  • Troubleshoot instruments and thoroughly investigate out-of-specifications results.
  • Must be proficient in the use of main equipment like GC-MS, GC-FID, GC-FPD, AAS ICP-OES, and other equipment, including handheld meters.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, spreadsheets, entry, and maintenance of electronic notebooks and communicate the results on a regular basis
  • Coordinate with other chemists to ensure that supplies are stocked and equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Observe Good Laboratory Practices and adhere to standard operating procedures.
  • Other duties as instructed by Manager and the demands of the business.


  • Must be a goal getter and able to work under pressure
  • Must possess excellent skills in reporting for all types of Environmental reports following the objectives of each study.
  • Must be able to use the microscope.
  • The ability to operate other Environmental Laboratory equipment and meters is an added advantage.


  • Minimum of an M.Sc in Environmental Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry or related field.
