Business Development Expert

Job Description/Requirements

  • Sign up unicorn (recognizable) businesses to our merchant platform app “Phlenu Business”.

  • Help in the onboarding process, communicate & resolve issues/tickets of customers. 

  • Oversee and develop strategic marketing campaigns.

  • Oversee some business deliverables(Engage influencers, transaction resolution e.t.c...)

  • Professional, agile and able to articulate information.

  • Plan new concepts to aid marketing & sales

  • Reducing churn rate by constantly communicating to customers.

  • Conducting and analyzing data to define and understand audience and customer behavior.`

  • Devising and presenting ideas and strategies to management to fuel growth.

  • Must be ready to work outside regular office hours and be on hand for Saturday/Sunday weekly call meetings. 

  • Be ready to assist and work in different roles when the need arises. 

  • Have senior-level experience selling technology-based software and explaining the value to customers.

  • Develop a working relationship with prospective unicorn businesses.

  • Engage merchants/customers Face-to-face on the ground.

  • Ability to sell “Phlenu Products” app benefits to even the toughest of client(s).

  • Proficient with technology - Google docs, sheets, slides, jira, mobile apps or Microsoft Office tools (Word and Excel, Powerpoint). 

  • Track marketing strategy results closely and create detailed reports with observation and other feedback. 

  • Create and execute lead generation programs.

  • Ensure creative marketing materials undergo regular review and adhere to brand guidelines. 

  • Adjust marketing deliverables as needed in response to the market.

  • Assist where required in internal deliverables

  • Must have a reliable mode of transportation to travel in and out of client engagement site(s) preferred but not required.

  • Incorporating feedback from customers and relating them to management.


  • HND or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or other related fields.

  • At least 3-5 years' experience in a similar position.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrable analytical thinking & business insight.

  • Outstanding poise in a fast-paced business environment.
