Job Description/Requirements

Position Purpose

Provide technical support and capacity building in the supply chain management system activities to health facilities on behalf of the organization.

Monitoring and coordinating quality assurance processes for the supply chain of all HIV related commodities

Manage the LMIS data from facilities


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with warehousing staff to ensure that ordered requests for commodities from Health facilities are promptly processed by the central warehouse & state program depot where applicable
  • Work collaboratively with the Logistics Support Officer to monitor and ensure an effective Inventory Management System for commodities (including ARVs and OlLS drugs, RTKs, Lab reagents & consumables) at the health facilities.
  • Work collaboratively with the Logistics Support Officer to conduct periodic stock verification exercise and reconciliation of records to ensure accountability of the commodities issued to the health facilities
  • Conduct routine monitoring visits to HF supported by clients sites to provide technical support and capacity building for staff of the sites
  • Follow up at the health facilities on timely preparation and submission of monthly reports on drug and laboratory logistics
  • Report feedback to facilities where data are generated from, to ensure the improvement of the facility performance
  • Work collaboratively with the Logistics Support Officer to ensure that pharmaceutical drugs are properly allocated and distributed to the facilities cost-effectively and in a timely manner
  • Work collaboratively with the Logistics Support Officer to ensure that set timelines are met with regards to product delivery, report collection, and submission
  • Compile, write and issue monthly reports on-site observations and challenges
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor

Educational Qualification and Background Experience 

At least a degree in Pharmacy as applicable

0-2 years post NYSC experience as a pharmacist

Must have experience in the area of HIV/AIDS is an added advantage

Must have experience working in Government health facilities

Must be a registered member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria

Must be ready to build a career in supply chain

 

Job Circumstances

  • The job involves extensive travel, locally.


Special Skills and Knowledge

Must have a good understanding of the health sector especially in the areas of HIV/AIDS as a developmental issue and the socio-economic parameters involved in Nigeria and globally

Must have experience in logistics management and the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams. A dynamic personality with initiative and flexibility

Excellent spoken and written English

Must have organizational and strong computer skills

Must have knowledge of database management e.g. Access, Excel
