Job Summary

The Dispatch Rider is responsible for the timely delivery and pickup of items, parcels, and documents between branches, customers, and vendors. The role ensures smooth logistics support to the company’s retail operations by maintaining professionalism, speed, and accuracy in deliveries.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport goods, documents, and parcels to and from company branches, customers, and partners.
  • Verify delivery information, such as names, addresses, and contact details, before dispatch.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries and obtain recipients’ signatures where necessary.
  • Maintain communication with the branch/logistics supervisor during delivery runs.
  • Conduct routine checks on the assigned motorcycle to ensure it is roadworthy and report any faults immediately.
  • Adhere strictly to traffic laws, company safety regulations, and delivery timelines.
  • Assist with light administrative or store support duties when not on delivery runs.
  • Provide excellent customer service and represent the company positively during interactions.
  • Maintain records of daily deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of SSCE/OND qualification.
  • Valid Rider’s Card/Driver’s License with proven riding experience.
  • Good knowledge of road safety rules and Lagos/Nigeria road network (or relevant city).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ dispatch/delivery experience in a retail, logistics, or courier setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (spoken and written).
  • Physically fit and able to work under pressure.
  • Strong integrity, reliability, and customer service orientation.
  • Time management and punctuality.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Basic record-keeping ability.


Working Conditions:

  • Full-time role; may include weekends and public holidays depending on retail operations.
  • Outdoor work environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Must be willing to travel between company branches as required.
