Job Summary

Our Client is looking for a Dialysis Nurse to provide care and support for ESRD patients who are sick, injured, convalescent or disabled. Under general supervision, they deliver care to patients utilising the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, in accordance with established guidelines.

Job Description

  •  Provide direct and individualised nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles
  • Primes dialyzer and bloodlines
  • Records patients medical information and vital signs
  • Prepares dialysis equipment
  • Oversees the dialysis treatment from start to finish
  • Cannulates accesses
  • Demonstrates the ability to remove femoral sheaths & administer medications, including thrombolytics
  • Cleans and dresses permanent and temporary catheters
  • Monitors patient and adjusts specialised equipment used on patients, and interprets and
  • Records information and maintains medical inventory
  • Identifies irregular dialysis reactions and notifies appropriate medical team members
  • Secures blood works
  • Patient based, Administrative and Other duties
  • Teach patients and significant others how to manage their illness, by explaining: post- treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exercise programs, self-administration of medication, if needed.
  • Provides pre and post-procedure care to Dialysis patients.
  • Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting. May also float among various clinical services, where qualified and competent.
  • Completes required orientation as directed by facility.
  • Follows facility safety rules, procedures and protocols while on assignment.
  • Respects cultural and religious practices of patients.
  • Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts


  • Graduate of an accredited RN/LPN program (Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Four (4) years relevant experience in clinical practice as a dialysis nurse
  • Nursing certification in dialysis. BLS/ACLS certification
  • Basic Computer skills and proficiency in MS word/outlook.
  • Knowledge regarding quality improvement and standards of care within practice area.
  • Anaemia and Osteodystrophy management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Electronic medical record system
