Job Summary

The job holder will be responsible for the overall Credit Support Services as well as planning, execution, and monitoring in the country. He/she will implement Company’s strategic plan in order to ensure the expansion of the company’s services through appropriate marketing of its services and develop bank-wise products and services in line with the Company’s business plan.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of University degree in an appropriate field.
  • At least five (5) years’ work experience in Commodity trade, Banking, Inspection services or Investment fund. Must have experience in Risk management, People management and Quality management. 
  • Working knowledge of commodity values chain market
  • Intricate knowledge of trade finance and financial tools 
  • Deep knowledge of the company’s services and its related bank products 
  • Foster the ongoing relationship with the banks
  • Keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload
  • Ability to analyze figures and write reports 
  • Excellent organizational skills to meet goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Excellent research and presentation skill

Responsibilities: 

  • He/she will be in charge of preparing and sending reports to the clients
  • On receipt of release instructions, ensure such releases are properly authorized and supported by the Finance Manager.
  • Ensure information required from third parties that is the bank, the borrower, suppliers etc is obtained and filed as required
  • Analysis of regional market opportunities, local marketing and trading capabilities, market structure and performance and preparation of situational reports and risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain good relations with the business community and the government to enhance the business image of the Company. 
  • Evaluation of Country Policy and Business Regulations, Development Plans and Annual Budgets to identify services that can be promoted by the Company.
  • Monitoring and analyzing domestic import/export situation, domestic production capacities, trends in commodities and other materials production and utilization to identify business opportunities and potentials in the company.
  • As part of Risk management, ensure that the Deals are properly reviewed and assessed before signing off.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of all the services offered by the Company.
  • Identify risks associated with a specific transaction and mitigants thereof.
  • Ensure that the awareness program and training plan related to the Risk assessment is effectively carried out respectively for the Company and external clients/ partners and the Company’s staff on new risks and mitigant factors.
  • Responsible for the overall Credit Support Services, planning, execution, and monitoring within all the countries.
  • Maintain good relations with the business community and the governments to enhance the business image of the Company. 
  • Identify specific risks associated with specific transactions at the time of transaction approval and be responsible for the risk mitigant structure for each commodity and transaction.
  • Overall supervision, monitoring, and progress reporting of Country Credit Support Services.
  • Preparation of Client Performance Report at the end of each financial year.
  • Ensure that the proper controls and related checks and balances are in place as per the contract.
  • Conduct regular audits to assess the implementation of approved operational procedures and draw monitoring mechanism and procedures that suit each specific contract. This would include the number of site visits, number of stock audits in a specified period of time, inspectors’ rotation, etc.
  • Be responsible for ad hoc reports on specific events in the course of contract execution to the country manager and regional head of risk management.
  • Perform audits of the transactions to verify the information supplied by the client, relationship manager, and credit support officers. 
  • To provide efficient services in credit analysis so as to mitigate risks and ensure counter-part performance, and maximize returns from such services to the Company.
  • Fully conversant with the contract terms and establishment of working relationships with the partners and to ensure that the objectives of the contracts are being met both from the clients and the Company’s point of view, through proactive rather than reactive management.
  • Structuring of services on the basis of general market perceptions and /or business development initiatives in order to create new and improved products and services. 
  • Identify the need for insurance and revise insurance policies with insurers, determine the need for an insurance claim, liaise with the client for details and determine the action in the event of an insurance claim
  • Ensure all information related to risks, credit support, contracts, and other relevant data is updated on a timely basis on the Company’s Software System.

Salary Range: NGN 250,000 - 400,000
