Credit Control Officer/ Head of Operations

Job Description/Requirements

  • Market loans and other organisation’s products
  • Counsel clients on policies and restrictions
  • Initiate loan applications for SME and Private Sectors
  • Determine all applicable ratios and metrics and set up loan payment plans
  • Visiting the business /employer of guarantors and preparing a complete loan assessment according to the bank’s credit procedures
  • Ensuring high-quality standards of the bank’s credit portfolio
  • Ensuring punctual repayments of acquired loans from clients, contacting and visiting all parties based on needs
  • Ability to meet and exceed targets while actively working to increasing business portfolio and client’s base.
  • Ensuring repayment tracking and loan collection without a default
  • Formulation of the company’s credit policy to mitigate unnecessary risk
  • Reviewing credit applications and credit references to set credit limits and ensure creditworthiness
  • Preparing journal entries, credit notes, report on branch activities and assisting with weekly and month-end review
  • Manage write-offs, bad debt provisions and setting up of payment plans
  • Regularly reviewing the processes and procedures to reduce debtor delays.
  • Devise customized recovery strategy on a case by case basis, reducing the non- performing loans owned by customers
  • Making recommendations to management to ensure departmental guidelines in relation to instalment agreements
  • Reviewing documentation (all aspects of contract) to assess liability, identify contract issues and judge recoverability
  • Establish repayment schedules, monitoring repayment of debts, and adherence by debtors to instalment schedules.
  • Preparing budget
  • Determine all applicable ratios and metrics and set up loan payment plans
  • Certify all accounts opened by the customer relations officer
  • Keep custody of the vault and ensure that an economical quantity of cash is in the vault and at teller stations to meet the normal demands of customers.
  • Oversee the cash reserve balance in the vault and update the reserve book
