Job Description/Requirements

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Assists to develop and update corporate forecasting models and analyze financial performance (Bank,  Business Segments, Subsidiaries),  
  • Conducts research and investigates various budget variances issues and assist the business in taking  corrective actions 
  • Analyzes relevant business and market information and works together with business units to define  growth and financial plans 
  • Focus on the development of the annual financial plan and track the Bank’s performance relative to plan  and overall strategic direction 
  • Develop and maintain executive-level dashboard with focus on leading indicators of performance,  business segment performance metrics, strategic priorities, financial performance, other key metrics
  • The role will require significant collaboration across the bank – Finance, Business segments (retail,  commercial, corporate bank), Transformation Management, Communications, etc.  
  • Responsible for analysis of functional departments and for providing support to functional department  leaders to ensure understanding of results on a monthly basis and accurate forecasting of future  expenses during budget/re-forecasting
  • Makes recommendations to improve the process as well as drive change both at Corporate and within the operating groups. 
  • Performs scenario planning efforts and specific business planning requests, subject to requests and  management decisions 

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Execution of specific projects as assigned and key metrics set  
  • Maintenance of Accounting Systems, GL Review Management – Finance 
  • The competence level of staff within Finance and Planning 
  • The efficiency of Budget and Management of Assets

Job Requirement:

  • First degree with and Professional membership (ACA or ACCA) will be an  added advantage and Compulsory 
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience  

Key Competency Requirements:

Knowledge:

  • Good knowledge of Finance in Nigerian Banks
  • Good Finance and accounting knowledge
  • Knowledge of the tax regulatory provisions affecting Nigerian banks 
  • Understanding of CBN and NDIC regulations affecting banks 
  • Understanding of the various Management Reports required for effective decision making 
  • Knowledge of Rendition of Statutory Returns
