Job Summary
The Cook oversees our kitchen by managing other members of the food preparation team, deciding what dishes to serve and adjusting orders to meet guests' requests. Assist in prep work, such as chopping vegetables, but more often will be involved in cooking exceptional dishes. The role will work with the Chief Chef to study recipes.

Responsibilities
Setting up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and food scales
Studying each recipe and gathering all necessary ingredients
Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities.
Cooking food in a timely manner
Inform wait staff about daily specials
Ensure appealing plate presentation
Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
Monitor food stock and place orders
Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
Requirements
Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook
Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment
knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques
Leadership skills
Ability to remain calm and under pressure
Excellent time management abilities
Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
Familiarity with sanitation regulations
Strive for excellence and willing to learn
Must be female
