Hope Found Global Initiative (HFGI) is a non-profit organisation committed to creating lasting, meaningful change in the lives of marginalized populations and vulnerable communities across Nigeria via inclusive and transformative initiatives. Our work focuses on orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs), widows, women, youth, people with disabilities (PWDs) and displaced or underserved families affected by poverty, crisis, and social exclusion.
Our programs focus on areas such as education, health and wellbeing, nutrition, protection (child and adult gender-based violence), WASH (Water, sanitation and hygiene), climate change, food security and livelihoods, peace building and good governance.
HFGI strives to create a brighter and more hopeful future for individuals facing adversity by not offering temporary measures but empowering them to transform their own situations by utilizing locally available resources through inclusive, participatory, and sustainable initiatives. This ensures that those we serve are not passive recipients, but active participants in identifying and solving the challenges they face.
Role Description
These volunteer nonpaid roles (Communications Officer and social media manager) offer options for remote or hybrid positions. The Communications Officer will be responsible for developing and managing communication strategies, writing press releases, engaging with media outlets, and ensuring a cohesive messaging approach across all platforms. The individual will also oversee strategic communications to enhance HFGI’s visibility and impact. At the same time, the social media manager will be responsible for managing the daily posting, storytelling, and audience engagement across all official platforms, monitor analytics and insights to track performance and improve content strategy and strengthen online community relationships by responding to messages, comments, and inquiries promptly, responding to messages, comments, and inquiries promptly.

Qualifications
- Strong skills in Press Releases and Writing
- Experience in Communication and Media Relations
- Knowledge of Strategic Communications and its application
- Ability to think creatively and work collaboratively
- Proficiency in leveraging digital tools for communication
- Commitment to HFGI’s mission and values
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in an NGO or development work is an advantage
- A bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field is advantageous
