Source Crafts is seeking a visionary Chief Communications Officer (CCO) to spearhead the development and execution of Source Crafts's communication strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's mission and values. The CCO will work closely with the leadership team to support the company's growth and impact.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Communication Strategy: Design and implement a comprehensive communication plan to build brand awareness, promote the company’s mission, and support its goals of scaling services to 100,000 smallholder farmers.
  • Public Relations: Build and maintain relationships with media, investors, partners, government agencies, and key stakeholders to ensure positive coverage and engagement toward the company's growth.
  • Internal Communications: Foster a culture of transparent, effective communication within the company, ensuring alignment of messaging across teams.
  • Staffing: Develop and manage staffing for communications and marketing teams.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the communications team, providing guidance and direction on strategic initiatives and daily operations
  • Content Creation: Oversee the creation of engaging and impactful content for various platforms, including the website, social media, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistency in messaging and brand identity across all communication channels.
  • Crisis Communication: Develop and implement crisis communication strategies to manage potential issues affecting the company’s reputation.
  • Digital Marketing: Collaborate with the marketing team to drive online presence, manage campaigns, and enhance customer engagement through social media and digital platforms.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends and customer needs, using data to inform communication strategies and drive brand growth.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior communications role, preferably in the agriculture, technology, or social impact sectors.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to craft compelling narratives and drive brand growth.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with diverse audiences, including rural and underserved communities.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing strategies, including social media management and SEO.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with media, investors, and stakeholders.


Preferred Qualities:

  • Passion for social impact and experience in the agricultural or rural development sectors.
  • Familiarity with smallholder farmers’ needs and challenges.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on results.
