A Channel Manager is responsible for improving customer consumption; planning and implementing customer presentations, overseeing account profiles, monitoring competitor activity, creating plans for growing market share and communicating channel.

Job Description/Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • A Channel Manager constantly learns different sales techniques and information on new products relevant to his/her industry.
  • The Channel Manager remains updated with his/her company’s competitions, their products and problems. As such, he usually attends trade shows, seminars, product launchings and other events related to his industry.
  • Maintaining and increasing sales of your company’s products
  • Reaching the targets and goals set for your area
  • Establishing, maintaining and expanding your customer base
  • Servicing the needs of your existing customers
  • Increasing business opportunities through various routes to market
  • Setting sales targets for individual reps and your team as a whole
  • Handle credit customers and ensure the smooth dues collection process.
  • Allocating areas to sales representatives 
  • Developing sales strategies and setting targets
  • Monitoring your team’s performance and motivating them to reach targets
  • Compiling and analysing sales figures
  • Possibly dealing with some major customer accounts yourself
  • Collecting customer feedback and market research
  • Reporting to senior managers 
  • Keeping up to date with products and competitors
  • A Channel Manager is responsible for the sale of a business's products or services in a specified region or geographical area. 
  • Collaborating with senior executives to establish and execute a sales goal for the channel
  • Managing a sales team in order to maximize sales revenue and meet or exceed corporate-set goals
  • Forecasting annual, quarterly and monthly sales goals
  • Developing specific plans to ensure growth both long and short-term
  • Educating sales team with presentations of strategies, seminars and regular meetings
  • Reviewing regional expenses and recommending improvements
