BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT/SALES LEAD (BDSL)

Job Summary

The BDSL is responsible for sales generation and business development for DRUPP Kwara. Ultimately the role is responsible for driving business growth amd profitability through sales and business development initiatives. Key to the success of this role is an entrepreneurial and charismatic sales leading mindset.

Job Description


 Proactively identify and develop a robust pipeline of business leads, opportunities for campaigns and efforts that will lead to an increase in sales
 Develop, implement and evaluate business development and sales strategies across various local governments leveraging on feedback from the team, consultation, research, metrics, industry analysis, competitive market trend analysis and best practices
 In consultation with management, define sales and business development goals and consistently achieve and surpass goals (with short, medium long-term focuses)
 Manage the performance of Direct Sales Agents (DSAs) – communicate clear deliverables and provide support in closing business leads when required
 Define and clearly establish high levels of accountability among the DSAs and manage their performance using a combination of winning and collaborative strategies
 Promptly respond to inbound sales inquiries and design proposals that will address needs of potential clients
 Arrange and participate in different sales and business development meetings
 Scan the market in Kwara State, gain an understanding of the market and based on this, identify and develop the organization’s unique selling propositions across locations. Tailor sales pitches accordingly and coach DSAs
 Monitor performance/sales versus goals and develop strategies to close gaps
 Maintain regular contacts with clients and prospects and ensure ongoing customer relationship management
 Provide periodic reports to stakeholders on trends, results, goals etc

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
 Minimum of Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Development or a related field
 Minimum of seven (7) years experience in sales/business development with at least three (3) years sales team management with proven direct sales results
 Excellent understanding of sales processes and proven experience in driving profitable revenue growth by engaging with all relevant internal and external stakeholders while working through others
 Possession of concrete example of business sales accomplishments required
 Demonstrated ability to build and lead a high-performance direct sales team and inspire strong sales performance
 Strong leadership/people management skills and ability to coach a high- performing team
 Possession of excellent persuasion, influencing and negotiation skills is required
 Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite and ability to adopt/explore new technology. Mastery of MS PowerPoint is essential
 Excellent stakeholder management, analytical, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
 Able to plan, think ahead, and prepare action plans to achieve results
 Possession of good work ethics, credibility and integrity
 Strong collaboration skills with great attention to details and business acumen
 Self-starter with the ability to achieve sales and prospect targets successfully
 Ability to work under pressure and quickly turn around quality work
