Job Summary

We are looking to employ a driven and detail-oriented business development officer to identify business growth opportunities, develop new sales channels for Greater Lagos. The job holder should also have the ability to develop strategies to increase the company’s bread sales. Their responsibilities include identifying potential dealers, retailers, shops, and store that will stock and retail Travis Premium Bread, identify underperforming areas in terms of sales and location, developing an in-depth knowledge of the company’s promotional offerings, pricing, and policies, and improving existing sales channels. The candidate should also have the ability to ensure that the company is able to achieve its revenue targets. To be successful as a business development officer, you should be adept at negotiating and able to make sound decisions that will benefit Travis Premium Bread. Ultimately, an exceptional business development officer should have strong business acumen as well as demonstrate excellent management, communication, and analytical skills.

Job Description/Requirements

  • Develop new sales channels for the Greater Lagos Areas of Surulere, Yaba, Ikeja,  Ikorodu, Festac, Ajegunle, Apapa, and Lekki Peninsula (Lekki Phase 1 to Chevron Estate, Ajah and Sangotedo).
  • Developing and sustaining solid relationships with existing and new customers.
  • Analyzing customer feedback data to determine whether customers are satisfied with Travis Premium Bread.
  • Recruiting, training, and guiding dealers and retailers for the Travis Premium Bread.
  • Providing insight into product development and competitive positioning. 
  • Analyzing operational cost data (Cost of Sales) and developing effective strategies to reduce business costs and increase company profits.
  • Conducting market research to identify new business opportunities.
  • Collaborating with the company’s management team to determine the most viable, cost-effective approach to pursue new business opportunities.
  • Meeting with potential dealers, retailers, shops, and stores to present Travis Premium Bread and sign them up. 


  • Good understanding of business management or administration, finance, accounting, marketing,  or related field. 
  • Proven experience working as a business development officer or similar role.
  • Preferably lives or residences within the chosen sector.
  • The ability to travel as needed within Lagos.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and management skills.
  • Exceptional negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Detail-oriented.
