An established engineering and construction firm is seeking a results-driven Business Development Officer to support its expansion initiatives. The role involves identifying growth opportunities, leading proposal efforts, and building lasting client relationships across sectors such as engineering design, construction, and technical training.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in public and private sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Develop and submit proposals, bids, and presentations for large-scale projects
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to align proposals with operational capabilities
  • Drive lead generation and follow-up to convert prospects into clients
  • Track performance and prepare weekly reports on business development activities.
  • Develop business proposals and innovative strategies for expansion.


Requirements:

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and multitask.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
  • 3–5 years of proven business development experience in engineering, construction, or technical consulting sectors
  • Familiarity with public-sector procurement, tendering, and proposal development
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho) is an advantage
  • The ability to quickly build effective, professional relationships based on mutual respect that deliver fantastic results for all stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated and result-driven with a track record of demonstrable networking, selling, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and management skills.
  • The ability to travel as needed
