Back-End Engineer

Responsibilities:  

• Design, build, and maintain backend systems and APIs using PHP and the Laravel framework. 
• Develop scalable solutions to support the Losode platform and services, ensuring system efficiency and performance.
• Collaborate with the front-end development team to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Optimize database queries and manage data to ensure high availability and fast response times.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices to protect sensitive data and application resources.
• Conduct unit testing and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues in a timely manner, including bug fixes, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities.
• Work closely with DevOps engineers to manage and deploy application infrastructure and services.
• Stay up to date with backend development trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities as required. 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 
• 3 years of experience working as a Backend Developer with a focus on PHP and Laravel.
• Strong understanding of the MVC architecture and RESTful APIs.
• Demonstrated experience integrating AI solutions/APIs into web platforms or services.
• Experience working with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and knowledge of database design and optimization.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, React) is a plus.
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and deployment tools like Azure, DigitalOcean, and Docker is an advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements.
