Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Financial Record Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in line with accounting standards and company policies.
- Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Handle day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
Inventory and Cost Accounting:
- Track and manage inventory costs, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
- Perform periodic inventory counts and reconcile variances.
- Calculate the cost of production and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Analyze manufacturing overheads and allocate costs to products effectively.
Budgeting and Financial Planning:
- Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and identify variances.
- Provide recommendations to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
- Prepare statutory returns, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and other tax filings.
- Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits.
Financial Analysis and Decision Support:
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
- Prepare management reports, including profitability analysis, break-even analysis, and cash flow forecasts.
- Support decision-making by providing financial data and projections.
Software and Systems Management:
- Utilize accounting software such as Sage 50 for financial record management.
- Use Microsoft Excel for advanced data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting.
- Ensure the accuracy and security of financial data in the ERP system.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field with a good academic record.
- ICAN student at Skill Level or equivalent professional qualification.
- Proven experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Sage 50 and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory management.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
