Our interns go through intensive hands-on training to prepare them for the challenges of the ever-expanding yet exciting world of civil engineering, both within and outside the shores of the country. Our company offers these opportunities in civil engineering, project management, structural engineering consultancy, highway engineering, erosion and water control engineering, transportation engineering, and general contracting services.

JILCON ENGINEERING SERVICES LTD is a multifaceted limited liability company with the clear objective of designing state of the art civil infrastructures and other human developmental services. JILCON ENGINEERING SERVICES offers world-class engineering consultancy, design of highway, design of high rise buildings, steel structures, estates, airports, underwater and water retaining structures, oil platforms, flood control, etc., etc.
Over the years, JILCON has been involved in the engineering design of numerous structures in Nigeria, the USA, Germany, etc., with specialized knowledge in equivalent lateral force procedure methods for earthquake resilient structures, ballistic resistant design and underwater structures.
Responsibilities:
During the internship, you will be given assignments of limited scope and complexity giving you the opportunity to learn. The intern would be responsible for, but not limited to, the following;
- Production of permit-ready plans and calculations as well as specifications in concrete, masonry, wood, steel, aluminium, etc.
- Researching of design codes and municipal code requirements.
- Responding to city comments for projects undertaken.
- Undertaking field expeditions.
- Preparing technical reports
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering from any company recognized institution of learning.
Requirements:
- Technical Skills: Must have technical skills, ability to think intelligently and piece together technical solutions to engineering challenges.
- Analytical Skills: strong skills in algebra, trigonometry, physics, statistics, strength of materials, structural analysis and design.
- Software Skills: strong skills in Revit/AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel. Good knowledge of Tekla Structural Designer/Tedds, Protastructure, Staadpro or Etabs is an added advantage.
- Age: must not be more than 25 years old at the time of application.
- Team spirit: throughout your internship, you will be working in a team.
- None required. However, candidates with prior experience in concrete design and/or any related experience stand better chances.
Duration: 6 months.
Salary: Subject to periodic upward review.
