Job Descriptions

  • Ensure database security
  • Control access privileges and permissions
  • Capacity planning
  • Conduct frequent database security audits
  • Conduct frequent data accuracy audits to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data
  • Coach and mentor team members
  • Develop database disaster recovery, high availability/redundancy plans
  • Ensure frequent backup of databases
  • Setup and maintain database replication on critical databases
  • Monitor database performance and query throughput
  • Conduct database tuning
  • Optimize SQL as required
  • Establish and document processes and procedures for database access, design, performance and redundancy
  • Handle database installation and upgrades
  • Refine and approve database designs
  • Understand all deployed software products, applications and features to Business Customers end to end
  • Manage properly and adequately the primary client on site and handle/manage expectations
  • Reply to customer mission critical issues outside business hours
  • Travel to customer sites for high profile issue resolution
  • Organize and have adequate representations in field visits
  • Provide enterprise-level assistance to our customers
  • Document activities and findings in a case tracking tool
  • Technical troubleshooting, analysis, and diagnosis of product issues
  • Ensure case updates and resolution timeframes are in line with service level agreement
  • Delivery of product issue workaround or fix
  • Replication of customer issues
  • Development of technical documentation (Tech Notes, Tech Alerts, FAQs, etc)
  • Excellent listening and questioning skills, combined with the ability to interact confidently with clients to establish what the problem is and explain the solution

Qualifications

  • 1st class or 2.1 B.Sc degree in Computer Science or similar field (extensive work experience may supplement degree)
  • Master's degree or equivalent is a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience
  • Familiar with at least 1 relational database management system; Oracle or PostgreSQL most used
  • Technical Knowledge / Skills Preferred but not Required
  • Microsoft SQL Server database development tools and languages (SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL)
  • Microsoft SQL Server database administration
  • Microsoft Visual Studio, including VB.Net and/or C#
  • Multiple years of experience as a Techical Support Engineer or related field practicing in support, design, development, and/or integration of process control and IT solutions for manufacturing.
  • Experienced with Windows servers
  • Experienced with Linux servers
  • Excellent SQL skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise your workload
