Store keeper Job description

Maintain receipts, records, and withdrawals of the stockroom

Receive, unload, and shelve supplies

Perform other stock-related duties, including returning, packing, pricing, and labelling supplies

Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies; report those to accounting for reimbursements and record keeping

Orders replacement of stock as required to maintain proper levels; checks receipts for proper quantity and condition of items received; ensures proper storage of inventory. (weighs delivery items to insure that what was ordered is what was supplied

Rotate stock and coordinate the disposal of surpluses (FIFO and expired goods must be taken note of)

Ensure adequate record keeping and manage all documentation to confirm proper stock levels and maintain inventory control

Knowledge of proper bookkeeping and inventory management

Familiarity with standard concepts and best practices in a stockroom Analytical mind with ability to make accurate mathematical computations

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Competencies in data entry, analysis, and management

Keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage time

Interacts with vendors to receive price quotes and place orders. 

Maintains record system for area of responsibility; processes daily paperwork including reports, requisitions, and personnel information. 

Should have basic computed skills
