Job Description:

  • As a social media manager, you will be responsible for all communications, social media, PR, events, and content creation for Intense Digital’s clients among other things.
  • It’s a Web 2:0 communications role, incorporating online tools and in-person networking to create relationships and ultimately build companies’ brands, both online and off. While every day as a Social media manager is different, this is what the role’s responsibilities may include: 
  • Content creation - writing blog posts, articles, newsletters, communications materials, and developing the photo and video content for social media channels
  • Social media marketing – creating, managing and growing the company’s presence through blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other strategically relevant online properties
  • Design – Creative and graphic design using tools like Photoshop, canva, Corel draw, ripple etc
  • Public relations – Managing incoming media requests and building relationships with industry journalists; creating, executing and measuring media campaigns
  • Customer relations – the Social media manager is responsible for customer support – answering questions however they come in (phone, e-mail, Twitter) and managing any online feedback forums
  • Communications/marketing strategy – the Social media manager is responsible for creating strategic marketing/communications plans to provide direction for the company’s public-facing communications
  • Analytics – Using Google Analytics and other measurement tools to provide reports on metrics, and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives

Skills and qualifications

  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Must be creative 
  • Must be social media savvy
  • Must have a general knowledge of current global trends and pop culture
  • Proficiency with tools like Hootsuite, Buffer, Mailchimp, Google Analytics
  • Experience – 1 to 2 years in a top advertising or digital marketing agency
