The Senior Operations Manager will lead several functional teams within the company including: 




Contribute to HR decisions

Inventory management

Customer Service

Customer follow up / satisfaction survey

Payment solicitation from credit customers

Management of customer database 

P O Verification and Installation initiation

Management of the Impact Water Hotline

Installations, Maintenance & Repair   

Management of the Installation team

Water Quality mapping

Installation of Water Purification Systems

Maintenance and Repair of Water Purification System

Quality Assurance

This position will provide the key leadership role to the company in administrative and operational management.  S/he will be an important leader for Impact Water in Nigeria and will oversee the activities of all locally-based staff, in assigned functional areas, and ensure efficient and effective execution of services, internal and external. The position will promote operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives, and help build a positive culture which celebrates and builds on the Company’s values. Sound human resource and financial management and a steadfast commitment to our zero-fraud tolerance policy will be key elements to the success of this position.


The Senior Manager, Operations will be an ambitious, adaptable and collaborative people leader with an eye for detail, a hands-on approach and an interest in troubleshooting, combined with a passion for delivering business growth, making an impact and strengthening the position of Impact Water as the top provider of drinking water solutions for schools in Nigeria. S/he will be required to succeed in both formal and informal environments and to deal with a range of clients and stakeholders with a variety of cultural backgrounds. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing, global social business with potential for promotion, over time. 

Specific position responsibilities include:

Develop and execute responsive and appropriate operations management systems (including some or all of the following: procurement, inventory, installations, maintenance and repair, customer service, impact measurement) 

Manage the full order cycle, recorded in the company’s Salesforce database, to ensure optimal customer service at all times, accuracy of information, and efficiency; drive accountability at all stages of the order cycle 

Define functional goals for the Admin team (also responsible for procurement and inventory management), Customer Service team, and the Installations, Maintenance & Repair team, ensuring full attainment with significant hands-on involvement 

Manage country staff of 10-20 members, including 4-6 direct reports; hire, train and terminate workers as needed 

Cultivate an entrepreneurial culture that develops and implements ideas in support of innovation and scale 

Help to produce satisfactory business performance reports (monthly, quarterly and annual) 


Experience and Skills Required

Master’s Degree preferred in business administration or a related field from a top academic institution or equivalent experience; Bachelor’s Degree with extensive applied experience and demonstrated track record is acceptable

5-7 years+ experience managing and leading operations for a private sector company; general management experience is welcome 

Strong leadership, management, analytical, mentorship and organizational skills 

Financial management experience, including internal controls and accountability

Strong interpersonal, cross-cultural, active listening, writing and presentation skills

Excellent intellectual credentials combined with strong emotional intelligence skills 

Demonstrable professional growth potential and ability to assume greater levels of responsibility over time

Intention to help lead and grow Impact Water’s Nigeria business for a minimum of three years 

Background in a competitive environment within the private sector is highly desirable

High levels of integrity are fundamental

The Senior Operations Manager will work from Impact Water Nigeria’s Lagos office located in Ikeja and will report to the Country Director.
