As a startup business in Nigeria, we are seeking a focused, driven and ambitious Sales Manager with marketing experience to join our Lagos, Nigeria office to lead our sales team.

Job Description

You and your role:

  • The purpose of this 360 sales role is to lead the sales team whilst generating new business leads through a variety of different avenues, identifying the clients' needs and closing new business deals increasing Passage Nigeria's coverage across Nigeria. The role is 100% new business focused and your target market is the ever-growing businesses and homes. You will be conducting cold calls, generating sales as well as demonstrating our services to subscribers, where necessary, in onsite meetings.
  • The individual we seek will be a structured, disciplined individual who has a track record of transforming building sales teams and processes to deliver success; somebody with a track record of building successful sales teams within the Comms arena (VoIP, SIP, Mobile, Internet Connectivity).
  • He/she will be proven at designing and implementing strategic sales plans.
  • He/she will possess great business and commercial acumen will be proven as creating lead generation teams and programs, building a successful field and desk-based sales teams.
  • He/She will be very clear and consistent on the Sales Methodology that should be adopted,
  • He/She will be a team player and inspirational leader.
  • He/ she will be a committed team player who engages well with internal and external parties – Marketing, Sales Engineering, Product Development, Finance, Customer Groups. 
  • He/She MUST understand both retail and corporate sales in Internet Connectivity or any part of the telecommunication service.
  • Familiarity with both Channel and Direct routes to market is required.

You will be:

  • Responsible for achieving monthly, quarterly and annual targets
  • Responsible for leading the sales team to achieve the targets.
  • Selling of all Passage Nigeria’s services into businesses and homes
  • Taking full initiatives to find new subscribers/clients for our services
  • Creating initiatives for marketing through online and traditional means.
  • Pitching and presenting to senior decision-makers (Directors & MD’s)
  • Maximizing networking opportunities and regularly going to conferences, events and trade shows to increase awareness and develop a further network of contacts
  • Ensure Input of data into CRM program of daily sales activity including records of all sales, sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow up-up activities.
  • Report & record sales pipeline activities in line with the agreed company process.
  • To source and make cold calls to potential new clients and build portfolio/pipeline of clients exclusively for the company.
  • Ensure client quotations are submitted in line with the policies and procedures.
  • Ensure client quotations are followed up and feedback recorded in the CRM program.
  • Ensure field-based sales conducted for a minimum of 3 days a week.

  • responsible for preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, summarizing information.
  • At all times maintain high standards of personal Quality, Health & Safety, and professionalism, and actively promote all Company policies and procedures.
  • Accountable for representing the company in the best possible light.
  • Accountable for proactively acquiring new business whilst increasing customer base.
  • Accountable for developing existing accounts.
  • Accountable for meeting agreed KPI’s.

 Successful candidates will have:

  • Must have led a sales team in either telecom, insurance or capital markets
  • Must have experience in target driven sales and must be willing to work to achieve sales targets.
  • Outbound cold calling experience and a proven pedigree in closing sales
  • Hunger and drive with a view for longer-term progression
  • A high level of initiative as well as being a good team player
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • A strong desire to learn and grow as a salesperson
  • A high degree of self-motivation
  • A passion for selling and relationship building
  • A strategic sales approach

Requirements (Essential):

  • Minimum 2/3 years' experience within Business Development/New Business role/Sales
  • Experience working in ISP, Telecom, Technology, Insurance or Brokerage is COMPULSORY
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (telephone, written and face-to-face)
  • Consultative sales skills. This role requires a blend of soft sell approach and hard sell closure
  • Excellent time management

  • Have experience of working in the car sales/automotive sector

 Salary and Compensation:

  • Working at Passage Nigeria, you will receive a competitive basic salary (N100,000 - N150,000 per month depending on experience) and an excellent commission structure.
