We are currently recruiting for the position of Sales Engineer

Job Description

  • Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements. Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Establishes new accounts and services accounts by identifying potential customers; planning and organizing sales call schedule and Presentations at customer sites when necessary.
  • Establishing new, and maintaining existing, relationships with customers, Recording and maintaining client contact data
  • Prepares cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, Management, and other professional and technical personnel representatives of the OEM.
  • Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in the customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
  • Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements.
  • Submits offers by conferring with OEM technical support staff and Admin support staff. Follow up on Calculating client quotations
  • Develops customer's staff by providing technical information and training.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; advising customers on product, service, or equipment adherence to requirements; advising a customer on needed actions.
  • Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Traveling to visit potential clients within defined customer locations
  • Negotiating tender and contract terms
  • Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing to terms and conditions
  • Offering after-sales support services
  • Meeting regular sales targets
  • Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events
  • Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs
  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Providing training and producing support material for the sales team

Qualifications:

  • Candidate should have a good first degree HND, BSc or B.Eng. 
  • Candidate must have useful work experience in a similar industry and a track record of sales performance and customer clientele to prove this.
  • Strong product, technical, and some application, customer, market and competition knowledge
  • Computer literate – Excel/Access/Word/Powerpoint
  • Strong communication skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to work with people by phone/E-mail in other locations, embracing diversity and inclusion
  • Fault finding and problem-solving ability
  • Attention to detail when required but also awareness of the importance of speed and efficiency
  • A self - motivated individual who can multi-task, meet customer deadlines whilst maintaining a high quality of work
  • The individual will be expected to develop his / her commercial awareness, application, market and competition awareness with more experienced members of the team
  • The person must be a strong communicator in both written and oral format
  • The individual must be prepared to manage, take ownership and responsibility for projects and see them through to successful completion
