Job Description

Hi there, 


We're looking for an energetic, friendly and motivated sales associate for a brand-new, fun concept store opening up in V.I. We sell a number of exciting products ranging from greeting cards to balloons and fun stationery. You would be the public face of the company and therefore responsible for dealing with any and all customer questions about our products and services. You would be in charge of generating sales and maintaining the presentation of the sales floor, products, signage and displays. You would also need to know how to gift wrap. 


Responsibilities:


  • Greeting customers in a friendly manner
  • Responding to questions
  • Improving engagement with merchandise and providing outstanding customer service
  • Operating cash registers, managing financial transactions, and balancing drawers
  • Directing customers to merchandise within the store and increasing in store sales
  • Providing superior product knowledge
  • Maintaining an orderly appearance throughout the sales floor
  • Introducing promotions and opportunities to customers and cross-selling products to increase purchase amounts
  • Professional gift wrapping services (wrapping, cutting and tying gift wrap materials) - Would be preferred
  • Balloon services (inflating, using helium tank, creating balloon bouquets) - Would be preferred 
  • Taking charge of inventory management


Requirements:


  • Retail sales experience
  • 1 x Job Reference
  • The ability to read, write, and perform basic math
  • The ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Proficient in verbal and written English language
  • Knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to read, write and effectively communicate with customers, peers and management
  • Telephone etiquette
  • Ability to multi-task, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision
  • Enthusiastic, friendly and energetic with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service
  • Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and overnight shifts
  • A love for greeting cards
