Outline safe operational practices and procedures to the general workforce, ensuring that all operational activities are carried out in accordance with the company’s safety policies, statutory regulations and guidelines.
Lead in-house training for safe working practice and procedures for worksite/terminal operations and procedures.
Developing and maintaining HSE training and competency records.
Carry out periodic inspections; prepare inspection reports on various work-site hazards, periodic HSE audit on Company equipments and facilities.
Shall liaise and consistently follow through on all statutory requirements of regulatory bodies like NIPEX, DPR and ensure full compliance.
Shall provide necessary information and data on changes in regulatory requirements to Management and ensure alignment.
Develop and maintain HSE management systems and plans, outline safe operational practices and procedures to the general workforce, ensuring that all operational activities are carried out in accordance with the company’s safety policies, statutory regulations and guidelines.
Identify HSE weaknesses and shortcomings in tenders and draft documents; take part in evaluation and processing bids.
Take part in all accident/incident/near miss investigations ensuring accident report forms are completed.
Carry out safety meetings and tool-box talks. Develop and maintain daily logs.
Stop all unsafe acts and apply sanctions to erring staff where necessary.
Have a minimum of 10 years experience in Health and Safety especially in an oil and gas environment.
Must be an organised person
Experienced in dealing with regulatory agencies like DPR, PPMC, NIPEX etc.
Member of relevant professional bodies such as NEBOSH, OSHA, ISPON etc.
