The procurement officer provides procurement expertise, assist stakeholders to plan, develop, source, and manage procurement arrangements; to effectively meet organizational and business objectives.

Job Description

  • Validate stakeholder’s business needs, compile and source market  information, and assist in analysing market. 
  • Assessing risk to inform procurement planning and sourcing decisions  Implement and contribute to the development of contract management plans, resolve issues, monitor performance and negotiate  contract variations through effective supplier relationships to enhance 
  • business outcomes
  • Provide reports and advice to contribute to decision and making  directions in procurement 
  • Identify, mitigate and escalate procurement risks
  • Maintain and update procurement records
  • Provide expert advice, governance and support to agency staff/teams  undertaking procurement 
  • Provide advice on procurement strategies and directions and
  • contribute to broader unit issues
  • Report on progress towards business objectives, discuss key projects and
  • issues.
  • Keep up to date with procurement policy, processes and legislation.
Required Qualification and Experience
  • BSc in Business Administration or equivalent
  • Diploma or Professional certification in procurement and supply chain  management 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ procurement management experience required
  • Evidence of practical experience in logistics within the field of supply  chain management (basic procurement, clearance of cargo, transport,  warehousing, asset management etc.) 
  • Competency (Knowledge, Skill and Attitude)
  • Proficiency with MS word and Excel
  • Sense of humour- and good interpersonal skill
  • Ability to integrate and work well within multi-ethnic and multicultural
  • Negotiation, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to read, write, analyse and interpret, technical and non-technical
  • Experience with budgeting and cost analysis
