An exciting career opportunity exists for a highly motivated, proactive person with one of the most progressive integrated farms in the South West of Nigeria (Iwo) with the following units: Animal production (piggery and poultry), Fruits and Vegetable garden, Agro-forestry, Fishery, and others. The company runs a successful integrated farming operation located on a large hectare of land in the Iwo area, currently producing large amount of animal and market garden products. It uses leading-edge technology, systems and processes to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency in all areas of its business.

Job Description

  • Under direct supervision of the farm, manager manages the delivery and quality performance, cost and inventory management, and customer satisfaction for established suppliers. 
  • Manages purchase order execution and product delivery, including placement of on-time schedule agreements, mitigation of billing adjustments/terminations and execution of cost reduction goals. 
  • Develop a market intelligence system that provides current market prices for all items regularly purchased.
  • Interview or contacts supplier salespersons, and secures bids.
  • Facilitate the filing of orders by suppliers to meet production. 
  • Works to maximize production capacity in accordance with production schedules.
  • Prepare purchase orders on behalf of the company.
  • Receive purchase Requirements from different Units.
  • Contact suppliers to schedule deliveries or discuss shortages or missed deliveries.
  • Determine if there is adequate inventory at all time.
  • Physical inspection of purchases and value for money audit on all purchased items. 
  • Handles special projects as assigned.
  • Qualities, Skills and knowledge
  • Integrity driven and dependable
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices, principles and procedures. 
  • Ability to analyze and present statistical data. 
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications, including some knowledge of intermediate-level Excel functionality. 
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Good organizational and time management skills. 
  • Must be able to balance multiple tasks in a challenging, fast-paced work environment.

Education and Experience:

  • First degree in any related field.
  • Three (3+) years of cognate work experience
  • Experience in managing the core operations of a similarly structured entity.
