Job Description

Key Performance Indicators (KPI) 
Monitor power plant equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems
Control generator output to match the phase, frequency, or voltage of electricity supplied to panels
Adjust generator priority and base load to generate specified electrical power in the most efficient way
Perform checks based on the maintenance plan at established intervals
Start or stop generators or other power plant equipment as necessary
Open and close valves and switches in sequence to start or shut down auxiliary units
Regulate equipment operations and conditions, such as oil, and water levels, based on panel data and checks
Ensure that operational data is recorded and compiled by completing and maintaining forms, logs, or reports
Clean, lubricate, or maintain equipment, such as generators, pumps, or compressors, to prevent failure or deterioration
Maintain an acceptable level of cleanliness throughout shift by conducting routine checks and carrying out corrective cleaning of the power plant and its environs when necessary
Examine and test equipment, using testing devices such as multi-meters, battery testers and ET
Ensure proper hand over to next shift before leaving the power plant
Make adjustments or minor repairs, such as replacing parts, tightening leaking glands and pipe joints
Ensure consumables such as air filters, oil filters, fuel filters, water filters and gas filters are replenished based on maintenance plan or panel data
Perform primary AGO test, visual and flame point tests and chemical infestation tests
Collect AGO and oil samples for laboratory analysis
Communicate with the client/utilities team on direct operational electrical load related issues
Ensure prompt reporting and documentation of incidents such as shutdowns, defects, unusual noise, smell or vibration to the power plant supervisor
Observe all health and safety regulations in accordance with TPN and client’s safety policies and manuals
Perform all work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety and environment
Ensure proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with provided instructions
Any other job assigned by the power plant supervisor
Proper documentation and timely reporting.
Consistently follows safe work practices and encourages others to follow safe work practices.
Providing timely guidance and feedback to help subordinates strengthen specific knowledge/skills needed to accomplish a task or solve a problem
Exhibit exceptional housekeeping practices
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Minimum 4 years relevant experience in mechanical or electrical position
A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred
Must have a proven knowledge of how to work with machines and use tools
Must possess clear and accurate reporting skills
Must have a positive team attitude when working with other team members
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills with solid attention to detail
Must possess sound troubleshooting knowledge and skills with ability to find and solve problems quickly and precisely
Demonstrate sound technical knowledge either in power plant operations, or equivalent
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Proficient computer knowledge is a plus
