  • We are looking for an experienced National sales manager to contribute to our company’s sales objectives. Your responsibilities include building and supervising the sales team and building long-term client relationships.
  • As a National sales manager, you should use your creativity and thorough knowledge of the seasoning market in Nigeria and sales processes to provide innovative ideas for business growth. Communication and team management skills are also essential for this position.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets and accounts
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
  • Understand category-specific landscapes and trends
  • Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of a product
  • Developing and implementing effective sales strategies
  • Leading nationwide sales team members to achieve sales targets
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts and regions
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies

  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements

  • Introduce new products to customers and develop programs to drive sales of key items for long-term growth.
  • Identify market trends. Utilize this data and analysis in the development of marketing strategies.
  • Set-up business reviews and yearly joint business plan meetings with key customers.
  • Document Sales activities in a timely and accurate manner. Providing management with sales data including forecasts, results and other pertinent information.
  • Connect other department and team members to create a differentiated customer experience that drives value added growth.
  • Create and maintain an environment of partnership and collaboration with distributors, vendors and other stakeholders.
  • Perform standard account management tasks such as price intelligence, forecasting, customer development planning, customer service delivery, and contract / price management.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • High school or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proven work experience as a National sales manager particularly in seasoning markets
  • Experience managing a high-performance sales team
  • An ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics
  • Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and team management skills
  • Analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude
  • Availability to travel as needed
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of work experience in sales, business development or strategic customer development roles in the seasoning sales and marketing.
  • History of contact negotiations and successfully closing business deals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers, senior management, and peers.
  • Superior strategic and tactical business skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and negotiation skills.
  • Experience using quantitative & qualitative research data.
  • Skill in prioritizing and triaging obligations, handling pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suites, statistical analysis and sales tracking software.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills with a strong attention to detail.
