Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

We are currently seeking an organized and responsible maintenance manager to manage maintenance staff. The ideal candidate will have understood mechanical and technical work, have excellent leadership and supervisory skills. You will direct and oversee all daily maintenance activities including delegation of tasks, tracking mechanical performance, and directing the processes of any necessary repairs.

Job Description


Roles and Responsibilities
Oversee, manage and direct all maintenance procedures and operations
Ensure all machinery is up to working standards
Assess current maintenance work processes, to optimize efficiency
Manage proactively
Use data analysis to help prepare for and prevent future problems
Create and implement measures to minimize breakdowns and repairs
(performing quality checks of all machinery, tools, equipment etc)
Troubleshoot problem areas and create a clear plan of action for fixing
necessary parts
Oversee repairs
Train new employees in maintenance work processes and procedures
Create a work environment with safety as a high priority
Perform evaluations of employees to ensure quality of work
Record and track daily progress/error reports
Maintain vendor relationships and order new materials as needed
Create and adhere to maintenance budgets
Enforce all health and safety rules and regulations according to
state/federal laws and company protocol

Required Qualification and Experience
High school diploma is required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
3 years of operations management in a food manufacturing environment
3 years’ relevant experience in maintenance
Extensive knowledge in a variety of mechanical systems
Previous managerial experience highly preferred
Experience managing multiple vendors
Ability to consistently maintain positive client relationships
Can effectively and efficiently handle both administrative and mechanical responsibilities
Makes safety a priority at all
Preference for experience in the aquaculture industry
Preference for experience in frozen food manufacturing environment
Safety Management and Risk Management experience with an
ammonia refrigeration system preferred
Competency (Knowledge, skill and Ability)
Excellent communication and coaching skills
Detail oriented and organized
Excellent technical knowledge of equipment, products and processes
Self-motivated, results orientated and excellent personal skills
Strong knowledge in Maintenance and Reliability
Strong knowledge/experience managing maintenance through CMMS
(Computerized Maintenance Management system)
- Strong background in HAACP; safety; GMP; and AIB
- Must have a hands-on work ethic
- Willingness to relocate
- Solid understanding of data analysis software
- People management skill
- Organisational skil
