The logistics manager’s role is to ensure all cocoa is transported and shipped from the warehouse to the ship in the smoothest possible way.
Besides being responsible for export of all the goods (cocoa), he/she will also need to manage all imports as well (chocolate and other materials).
Book the transport and the containers for the shipment of cocoa according to the customers’ shipping instructions.
Ensure all documentation is in order. And permits are obtained.
Interact with all stakeholders in the supply chain from warehouse till ship (contractors, clearing agents, transporters, government authorities, customs, customers, surveyors, etc.)
Manage all imports of chocolate and materials. Ensure all documents and permits are obtained.
Find a way to continuously optimize the shipping of goods in both transit time and cost.
Responsible for all the dressing material for own exports + third party exporters.
Interact with QA department and surveyors to ensure the cocoa is ready for export and checked properly before shipment.
Required Academic & Technical Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain or any relevant field
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in logistics in Nigeria (Lagos)
Experience in commodities export is a plus
Experience in the import of goods also required
The role is based in Sagamu but a presence in Lagos can be required to follow-up on the exports
Join a new team that will be growing fast. The company in Nigeria is new but part of a large multinational. In the beginning phase the logistics manager will only be responsible for import/export in Lagos. In a later stage transport from the cocoa producing states to Lagos will also be part of the responsibilities.
