Job Description

  • The IT technical support officer will be responsible for the smooth running of computer systems, local internet and IT infrastructure across the group. The officer will maintain, tweak, repair and configure all computer hardware operating systems and applications whilst ensuring availability of IT technical support.  

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks;
  • Set up systems and resolve all corresponding issues;
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults and replace parts as required;
  • Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports;
  • Support the roll-out of new applications;
  • Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues;
  • Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs;
  • Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, where necessary);
  • Rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers;
  • Test and evaluate new technology;
  • Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment;
  • Provide all other IT support as required

Qualifications and Experience

  • To successfully deliver the above goals, the right candidate must have: a degree in information technology, computer science with relevant certifications
  • At least 3 years core experience on software and operating systems, computer network, desktop support;
  • Must have a Proactive Problem-Solving approach, attention to detail and tolerance to stressful cases;
  • Strong Interpersonal and Relationship Management skills.
