Head, Accounts 

Immediate Supervisor: General Manager 

Immediate Subordinates: Accountant, Accounts Officers, Inventory Officer 


Overall Job Objective: 

  • Provide appropriate and accurate accounting, cost control, and other financial management information to meet the needs of management, the board and other recognized stakeholders. 
  • Provide overall direction in Accounting, Funds Management, alternative Investments and other Accounting strategies for efficiency 
  • Ensure adequate preparation and rendition of financial reports to the management, Auditors, Board and regulatory bodies 
  • Undertake tax management and planning to ensure tax efficiency for the company  
  • Assist in the preparation of budget and monthly budgetary controls reports Relate with Account and Tax Auditors for annual audits 
  • Prepare other ad-hoc reports as may be required 
  • Establish performance objective and targets for team members 
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of immediate subordinates Participate actively in management committee meetings and other management bodies Develop profitable financial plans (short and long) for liquidity sustenance
  • Provide on-the-job coaching for subordinates and ensure that other training needs are identified and addressed 
  • Prepare the financial reports of the company on a monthly basis and maintain accurate book-keeping and accounts
  • Monitor the firm's budget on various projects 
  • Verify postings of financial dealings into system by other account staff Handle bank transactions supervision with the Accountant 
  • Monitor and follow up on investment and debt recovery
  • Undertake tax management and pension issues 
  • Monitor stock purchase, requisites 
  • Design and advice on financial Audit processes and implementation
  • Liaise with auditors on tax clearance issues  
  • Perform other duties as maybe assigned by immediate supervisor / Management 


Requirements:

  • BSc/HND - Accountancy or its equivalent 
  • The preferred candidate must be a chartered accountant. 
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the job
  • The salary scale for the position: 170000
