Job Summary

One of our client in the Oil & Gas, Vessel and Marine Operation industry is in need of the service of a General Manager to manage its operations

Job Description

 You will provide strategic direction and undertake such duties and exercise such powers in relation to the Company and its businesses as are vested in you by the Board of Directors (hereinafter referred to as the Board)

 You will devote the whole of your professional time, attention and ability to your duties hereunder;

 You will comply with all reasonable requests, instructions and regulations given or made by the Board (or by any one authorized by it) and promptly provide such explanations, information and assistance as to your activities or the business of the Company as the Board may reasonably require.

 You will faithfully and loyally serve the Company to the best of your ability and use your best endeavors to promote its interest in all respects including, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the promotion, development and extension of the business of the Company

 You will not engage in any activity which would detract from the proper performance of your duties hereunder;

 You will provide leadership and work jointly with other officers of the Company and/or other persons as the Board so directs, including the Technical Partners, Area Manager and their Regional and Corporate Offices

Particular Responsibilities

The following provides an overview of the particular functions of this job. It is not an exhaustive list.

 Assist in promoting continuous preservation of the Company’s assets

 Promote goodwill in local communities in support of the Company’s objectives

 Supervise and oversee the success of the third party manning service

Represent the Company, protect the Company’s image positively and otherwise protect the Company’s interest in its dealings with clients, potential clients, Government and non-Government (public and private sector) entities

 Liaise and maintain open lines of communication to update Technical Partners in Nigeria on current events and Company interests

Liaise with Technical Partners to position the Company to meet Nigerian Governmental requirements in respect to Local Content Development, Cabotage, and other Nigerian Laws and regulations

 Liaise with Tech. Partners representatives (Area Manager and Commercial Manager) and make customer visits, introductions, conferences, open forums, and continuously communicate to build relationships with key decision makers in the market.

 Uphold compliance with Nigerian Laws and Regulations, the United States Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other applicable anti-bribery laws and Tech.

 Comply with internal policies and procedures in all transactions and dealings

Participate in Safety Meetings and Operational Visits as necessary to reinforce the Safe-T-Rules and Technical Partners safety Management System

 Assist in identifying key individuals and developing their skills for continuous career growth

All other responsibilities as directed 


Qualifications:

 Combination of education and experience demonstrating knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to:

 Master’s degree in Business Management, Engineering or Marine Operations or other relevant disciplines; and 

Proven work experience in vessel brokerage, Charter Management and Operations

Vessel Standardization and Budget Management Operations

Seven (7) years of experience as a supervisor/manager leading/overseeing staff

 Experience of the Downstream Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry including laws and regulations and key stakeholders

Detailed understanding of Cabotage service regulations

 Experience in the Offshore Oil and Gas industry (upstream) is highly desirable

STCW Certification

Detailed working knowledge of vessel systems and their proper maintenance (CP Design System)

BOSIET certification

Business development experience.
