Job Summary

The Food scientist is responsible for ensuring that food manufacturing processes conform with government, processing, consumer and industry standards.

Job Description

The successful candidate would be responsible for the following;

Evaluating the nutritional value, color, flavor and texture of the products

Conducting tests to ensure there is no microbial contamination

Ensuring that the manufacturing processes conform with government, processing, consumer and industry standards

Exploring alternative manufacturing methods

Producing new food products

Working closely with other food production staff including engineers, packaging specialists and buyers

Establishing low-cost wholesale food production methods

Investigating and setting standards for safety and quality

Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to during production

Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)


 Minimum of a BSc degree in Food science, Food technology, Microbiology and any other related field.

Minimum of five (5) years working experience in a Food or beverages production company

Experience with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies

Currently working in a plant and has knowledge of the country's regulation.
