To closely monitor and supervise repair work carried out on all operational cars & rangers, heavy-duty equipment & vehicles in the Workshop

Job Description

Supervises:

Mechanics, Electricians, Helpers, Vulcanizer & other floor staff

Employing a thorough practical & mechanical knowledge and detailed diagnosis skill set, with a strict aim to exact repairs of vehicles and equipment in the workshop

Working closely with mechanics to generate work orders, part requests, time sheets/attendance, and attend to observations as presented by the inspections officer.

Actively involved in the repair work alongside the mechanics with in-depth understanding of dismantling, coupling and repair. Also directly involved with assigning mechanics, electricians, vulcanizer and other floor staff.

Interfacing with the workshop manager on basic operations, equipment, tools, work assignments, approvals, major repairs and all units within the department

Acting as the relief workshop manager when the WM is indisposed or is attending to other auxiliary functions as may be required.

Education:

Polytechnic OND / Relevant degree in Industrial Arts or Manufacturing and 2 years On the Job Experience.


Skills Required

Minimum of 2 -5 year’s work experience in the field required.

Specific skills in any of the following: Ford Rangers (Current Operations Fleet), Mercedes Benz, Iveco, MAN, Mack , Cummins, Detroit and all Diesel Gear Systems and Engines.

Extensive Technical Skills in Truck Mechanic diagnosis and repair work of all types
