Job Description

Business Description: Manufacturing, Marketing and Distribution in the Pharmaceutical Industry

Detailed Role: Includes but not limited to:

·         Set up and effective operation of effective accounting processes

·         Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports

·         Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports

·         Preparation of management accounts

·         Implement administrative, financial policies and procedures

·         Budget preparation and control

·         Assist in procurement of supplies and services

·         Prepare books for internal and external audit exercises

·         Prepare response to audit observations as appropriate

·         Ensure compliance with audit recommendations

·         Ensure compliance with statutory returns e.g Tax, annual returns etc

·         Ensure internal control, study control system and procedure relating to all the functions in the Accounting unit and initiate such changes as may be found necessary to improve productivity and performance

·         Ensure data are posted daily e.g Payment vouchers, Receipts, journal etc

·         Inventory Monitoring and reports

·         Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures

·         Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice

·         Maintain financial security by following internal controls

·         Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements

·         Train and supervise accounting staff

·         Oversea the factory cost accounting functions( estimation, allocation and costing of jobs)

·         And all other responsibilities as determined by management from time to time


Key Requirements:

  •  Education: Minimum Bsc in Accounting or related Discipline (Professional Accounting Qualification is an added advantage)
  •  Experience:  Minimum 5 years in similar position. Should be conversant with cost accounting and inventory management
  •  Skills: Analytical, organizational and supervisory.
  •  Personal Attributes: Diligent, thorough, self-managed, good interpersonal skills and ability to work cordially in a team
