Primary Purpose of the Role :
The primary purpose of the DBD is to use his/her experience, vision and contacts to sell the company to potential clients as the Marketing Communication Agency to successfully deliver on the clients’ business (market share, growth) objectives
Grow the total revenue and bottom line of our company through winning new profitable accounts and new viable businesses from existing clients.
Expand our profitable client portfolio base through aggressive new and unique business offerings and opportunities to new and existing clients
Plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with the company.
Identify the unique selling propositions and differentiators for BBL and develop a winning strategy for our company to emerge as formidable organisation winning viable and profitable accounts and businesses.
Participate in strategy reviews, strategy development and execution
Identifying and developing the pipeline of new business coming into the company - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products and services thereby expanding the company’s client base, while driving expansion into new and existing market.
Research and prospect for new customers/clients to ensure a robust pipeline of engagements within the market at any point in time to yield increased customer base
Build relationships with decision makers within potential clients organisations
Develop systems and procedures to generate new businesses and enable effective engagement with potential clients and execution of new business development
Propose new business offers and new areas of business to BBL to grow revenues and income.
Manage programmes, projects and budgets
Monitor, analyse and forecast business development direction and ensuring at all times that targets are achieved
Prepare analytical performance reports as required for management and Board purposes
Work with internal colleagues including accounts management department, creative department etc to identify new business opportunities and ensure they’re harvested and to meet clients needs
Arrange and participate in client’s debriefs and manage clients relationships to ensure ongoing mutual benefits
Undertake training and mentoring to account management team members and other staff
The incumbent will work as part of a team where constructive cooperation and communication are particularly important
This role can only be successfully discharged by a charismatic, self - motivating, entrepreneurial, socially connected and outgoing personality with the ability to work with different organizations and has a passion for providing proven marketing solutions. The Candidate must have the mindset that only results count. Minimum 10 years of Business Development experience from any industry.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. An MBA or equivalent will be an added advantage.
The Compensation Package
Competitive, negotiable depending on experience and tied to productivity and performance
The qualified candidate shall be reporting to the CEO and shall become a member of the Executive Management Team
Hours of work
Normal 8am – 5pm working hours Monday to Friday. Based on responsibility and level in organization there will be need for additional hours of work and weekend work based on need and exigency
15 working days within a 12 calendar month period. First leave shall be after first 12 months. Leave may not be taken at once and shall be subject to work demands and CEO’s discretion
