Does the idea of thwarting cyber adversaries interest you? Would you like to play a part in understanding the tactics, techniques and procedures of cyber threat actors with a view to protecting individuals and organizations in the pubic and private sectors against eFraud and cyber attacks? If so, then you are whom Digiss is looking for.

We are seeking bright, energetic and highly motivated fresh graduates to support our clients in researching open sources of threat intelligence to discover and analyze information that would aid delivery of proactive cyber defense suggestions to our clients. Successful candidates will learn and perfect the art of turning threat intelligence data into actionable insights whilst assessing the means and motives of cyber threat actors.

Essential duties & responsibilities:

  • Research and collect relevant data from social media platforms and a baseline of open sources of intelligence (to be provided by Digiss)
  • Discover links to new sources of intelligence and deliver a report on highest priority sources based on their value to the outcome of threat intelligence efforts
  • Apply specific cyber analytic model to identify, track and support analysis of prioritized threat actors 
  • Deliver weekly progress reports and participate in weekly stand-up calls
  • Maintain situational awareness of cyber threat landscape on the African continent
  • Track and report on activities of potent cyber threat actors following investigation, analysis and fusion of threat intel information from multiple sources
  • Discover, analyze and attribute adversarial campaigns (to threat actors)
  • Carry out other threat intelligence duties in line with Digiss standard operating procedures 

Key attributes and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) field 
  • Exemplary professionalism, passion, and desire to succeed as a cyber security practitioner
  • Ability to think outside the box and suggest innovative ideas
  • Excellent analytical mind, problem-solving skill, and a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Good knowledge (or ability to grasp the concepts) of the eFraud ecosystem, organized cybercrime group, Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) and social engineering tactics
  • Ability to analyze historical cases of e-commerce and online payment fraud, and recommend effective mitigation steps
  • Ability to discover and understand cyber laws, regulations, and policies of Africa’s largest economies
