As a Crewing Coordinator, the individual would report to the Crewing Manager and would be responsible for the following:
Ensuring that the ships are manned in accordance with national and international regulations and that ship's crew are suitably qualified, certified and medically fit.
Maintains records of qualifications, training and experience of sea-going staff
Coordinates the crewing schedules for each ship in consultation with ship master and vessel manager and/or port captain.
Conducts interviews and inductions to ensure that personnel are familiar with their duties and assignments.
To arrange in consultation with the vessel manager and/or port captain any training which may be necessary to ensure personnel meet the minimum requirements.
To conduct training needs analysis and identify personnel who may need specific training for the effective performance of their job.
Liaising with regulatory authorities
Key Competencies Required
Knowledge of vessel crew recruitment and vetting
Knowledge of Microsoft office
Crew rotation planning and scheduling
Business report writing
Good communication skills
A first degree in Administration or relevant course
Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Marine environment and conversant with vessel crewing and MLC regulations. Experience in HR would be an added advantage
