The accountant is also responsible for the daily financial position of the Coop. Accountant will analyze, evaluate and report on financial matters of the Coop.

Functions & Responsibilities:

Controls the Coop cash and bank transactions

Supervising all the society operations activities when the operations manager is not present.

Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements e.g. Taxations e.t.c

Ensures that all cash transactions involving the co-operative expenditure are properly authorized

Supervises cash office operations and the safe operations.

Prepares quarterly economic performance report for the senior manager.

Preparation of the society final accounts.

Preparation of monthly financial management report

Prepares society financial quarterly reports for the Management Committee

Prepares annual society budget with assistance of the budget committee.

Receives and reconciles daily Coop Fin and GAPS.

Assists in preparing accounts officer training and education programmes. 

Assists in the planning and timely execution of the internal and external audit assurance programs of the society including effective close out of audit findings

Reports any irregularites observed  in writing immediately to the General Manager irregularities 

Any duties that may be assigned to him/her from time to time.

Professional Requirements:

Master of Business Administration and professional certificates will be an added advantage

Minimum of 5 years relevant experience. 3 of which must have been in a Large Organization/multinational company 

A good university first degree in finance or accounting
