Job Summary

We are currently recruiting for a COO to oversee the restaurants’ on-going operations and procedures. This person will be responsible for the efficiency of the business. The COO position is a management-level position with the responsibilities of running and managing the processes, procedure, and progress of the restaurant as well as safeguarding the financial success of the restaurant and a positive brand image. The COO is expected to drive financial return and sustainable growth. The COO is expected to enthusiastically represent the brand design and implement business strategies, plans, and procedures that would allow the restaurant to meet its vision, mission, and goals. The best candidates for this position are exemplary leaders with a track record of success in the food industry.

Job Description

The COO will undertake activities common to business managers, including overseeing:

  • Finance
  • Human resources
  • Marketing
  • Operations
  • Sales

Job Description:

  • Design and implement business operations such as: organize stock and equipment, order supplies and oversee building maintenance, cleanliness, and security
  • Establish policies that promote company standards, culture and vision
  • Work with management to set a budget and project profit and losses 
  • The COO will plan strategies to maximize profits and achieve sales targets set by the head office or CEO
  • Oversee the daily operations of the restaurants and work of other departments (IT, marketing, finance, human resources)
  • Ensure the restaurant is compliant with all local and federal government laws and regulations, as well as being up-to-date with changing laws that will affect the business
  • Oversee the recruitment and retention of staff, as well as, development and training of staff to ensure they meet hospitality standards 
  • Oversee and coordinate managers and staff scheduling and rotas, and motivate and encourage staff to achieve targets 
  • Ensure standards of hygiene are maintained and that the restaurants comply with health and safety regulations
  • Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained
  • Create the procedure to handle customer complaints and queries
  • Implement branded promotional campaigns from head office, including the handling of point-of-sale promotional materials, or devise your own promotional campaigns
  • Prepare reports and other performance analysis documentation
  • Report to, and attend regular meetings with CEO
  • Establish relationships with the local community and undertake activities that comply with the company's corporate social responsibility programs.
  • Assist with drafting of job descriptions and ensure that job role are well-articulated 
  • Comfortable with numbers (financial analysis, accounting, operating costs, taxes, etc) and able to lead high-level C-suite meetings 
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve business problems and team conflicts
  • Proven skills in budgeting resources (money, labor, and time) to achieve business vision, goals and objectives. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint packages 
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Enthusiastic with good interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and influence people
  • Strong sales, distribution, fast food processing, and marketing knowledge 
  • Good negotiation and organizational skills
  • Strong and proven decision- making, as well as problem-solving skills
  • Has a results-driven approach to work
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines 

Qualification and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of verifiable progressive experience in hospitality, restaurant or food chain services
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Finance or Hospitality.
  • A Masters in Business Administration is a plus

 Competencies:

  • Strategic thinker, goal-oriented and attention to detail 
  • Experience managing/supervising more than 10 employees 
  • Experience with the large food services provider 
  • History of developing team members into leaders
  • Ability to drive growth and challenge all areas of the business to improve efficiencies 
  • The available position is for a "Noodles Bar" (Restaurant) in Lekki Phase 1.
