Job Description

  • Develop content strategy in line with editorial board objectives.
  • Develop relationships with marketing, sale , customer service and other department to keep content ideas flowing throughout the organisation.
  • Seek partnership with content partnerships and freelancers.
  • Develop content streams for stock market, fixed income, economic and other businesses related news forms.
  • Create and enforce deadlines to article submissions and publications
  • Enforce policies, style and tone in regards to publications
  • Oversee all content creation and publication on all Nairametrics broadcast platforms.
  • Approve stories for publishing and final copies
  • Decide on stories to be run even when controversial
  • Copy editing, proof reading and overseeing other steps in initial production
  • Manage Budget for content creation, editing and publishing.
  • Develop effective social media strategy for creating content and growing followers
  • Oversee creation of all content forms such as video, images, infographics, gifs, charts etc.
  • Manage staffing and other engagements
  • Manage staff-editorial and writers which could include contributing writers
  • Assign and edit every story published
  • Coordinate editorial meetings
  • Plan and approve assignments for writers and editors
  • Any other responsibility as may be mandated by Partners.

Academic Qualification

BA or BSc Degree in Accounting Banking & Finance, Economics, Media, Journalism or related or relevant equivalent

Work Experience

12+ years working experience in media, journalism, advertising or related domains. 5 years in Senior Management Position. Experience in digital media is and advantage.
