A reputable company in the manufacturing sector requires suitably qualified candidates for the post of Food Technologist.
To research current consumer markets and the latest technologies to develop new product concepts.
To assist in selecting raw materials and other ingredients from suppliers.
To prepare product costing based on raw materials and manufacturing costs to ensure profitable products.
To coordinate launches of new products or running trials alongside with product development.
To deal with any customer’s complaints in relation to the company’s products & to carry out investigations also on product issues.
To compile, check & approve product specifications and labelling.
To undertake long-term projects with other departments, with the view of reducing waste and improve efficiency.
To work on packaging innovation and technology.
To develop the ability to repeat processes to ensure consistency and safety.
To liaise with technical and commercial colleagues in Procurement, Sales Technical services, Marketing/Distribution, and with official food inspection and hygiene agencies if need be.
To work with Engineering/Production to develop solutions to production issues whilst maintaining food safety.
BSc./HND in food science & technology other related disciplines with a minimum of 3yrs working experience in a food processing industry or a Blue chip company. Post-graduate degree or Professional certificate will be an added advantage.
