Accounts Supervisor


Job Summary

An accounts supervisor provides general overall administration, follows up all payments and checks all activities for our market. The person in this position is responsible for constant search for efficiencies and suggests improvement initiatives. This person also prepares Bonus reports.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Bank Reconciliations / Monitoring of all bank transactions (in conjunction with IBM)
  • Review journal entries
  • Bonus reconciliation and payment
  • End of month accruals
  • Filing of tax reports monthly

Cooperation with IBM:

  • Daily cooperation with IBM
  • Preparation and verification of documents
  • Providing invoices and local reports to IBM on a weekly basis
  • Organize twice weekly payment runs in conjunction with IBM
  • Local filing of all required documentation


  • Provision of all reports for auditors
  • Liaison with auditors during audits daily
  • First line of answer for audit questions


  • Accounts Supervisor provides support to the Finance Manager and Accounts Manager in matters related to reporting, payments, booking, etc. Coordinator needs to be assertive and possess time management skills as well as pro-active attitude. 


  • Networking & communication skills: Be communicative and able to cooperate on all levels within the organization
  • Handling numbers and statistics: Analytical thinking and proficiency in variety of calculations. Ability to draw synthetic conclusions, familiar with success plan
  • Efficiency and accuracy: Ability to follow rules and established procedures, work consistently and accurately, using technology in an efficient way. Be in line with required deadlines and formats (layouts, charts, reporting purposes)
  • Knowledge of management accounting: Advanced accountancy knowledge
  • Planning and organizing: Be well organized and in line with required deadlines
  • Coping with stress, resilience: Resistance to stress and time pressure
  • Reliability and ethics: Ethical attitude
  • Independence and self-confidence: Self-confident, working independently, developing own point of view and not afraid to express a divergent opinion
  • ACA: Must be holding a Nigerian Chartered Accountant degree (ACA)

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience in accounting, controlling, audit or tax advisers minimum 3 years
  • University degree, preferable in accounting or economic sciences or similar (Master's is preferred)
  • The ability to think analytically and draw synthetic conclusions.
  • Broad knowledge of tax law
  • Broad knowledge of accounting
  • IFRS knowledge is preferred
  • Experience of handling bank
  • Fluent English to be able to communicate daily with IBM
