Job Summary

Opportunity for an Accountant to work with a growing private healthcare company operating in Enugu, Nigeria. The Accountant will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a new financial reporting system and detailed accounting procedures, and on an ongoing basis preparing and maintaining complete and systematic electronic records of the center’s financial transactions, in addition to preparing full financial statements. Responsibilities include producing detailed reports to be presented to senior management and shareholders of the company, and preparing the accounts for periodic audits.

Job Description

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

  • Accounting qualification (ICAN, ACCA)

  • +3 years of working in an accounting environment (preference for an audit firm, audit department of a bank or international corporation) 

  • Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint, in addition to general proficiency with financial reporting systems.

  • Solid understanding of GAAP (Nigerian) and IFRS (preferably)

  • Financial analysis experience.

  • Salary: N200,000

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain financial reporting system and detailed accounting procedures

  • Maintain full electronic records of the company’s financial transactions and fixed assets register

  • Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconcile accounts (cash, receivables etc)

  • Manage supplier and staff payments in accordance with set procedures

  • Analyze information and KPIs by developing spreadsheet reports; verify information

  • Prepare reports for senior management and shareholders, answering accounting and financial questions by researching, understanding and interpreting data

  • Assist with local and federal required filings as appropriate

  • Prepare annual operating budget preparation and cash forecasting analysis

  • Prepare monthly internal financial statements

  • Prepare accounts to facilitate period audit.

  • provide the needed information to fulfil the audit requirements
