Reports to: Assistant Manager, Internal Control


Job Summary

Assist in the monitoring of organization’s operational activities to ensure compliance with policies and procedures


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Internal Control Activities
  • Assist in the verification of cashier’s records of sales and petty cash.
  • Assist in the verification of payment instruments prior to disbursement.
  • Review staff records on the utilization of Medical Allowances as required.
  • Review Motor Vehicle Maintenance Records 
  • Assist in the verification of DSSR 
  • Assist in the verification of WSR for Satellite and Mobile workshops.
  • Verify postings of invoices and payments made for motor vehicles sold
  • Assist in the periodic stocktaking of motor vehicles. 
  • Oversee the release of motor vehicles 
  • Verify waybills of vehicles taken for payment 
  • Assist in the verification and recording of spare parts purchased from vendors.
  • Conduct periodic price surveys to ensure the veracity of prices of supplied goods and services.
  • Review spare parts counter sales reports as required
  • Monitor transfer of spare parts to branches and satellite workshops.
  • Conduct spot-checks and audit visits as required.


General Responsibilities 

Prepare/ compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of management as required 

Perform any other duties as assigned by Assistant Manager, Internal Control 


Key Performance Indicators 

Internal customer satisfaction indices

Timely review and verification of OTC spare parts sales records 

Timely verification and recording of technical and non-technical stock supplied

Timely collation and submission of reports from spot checks and audit visits

Timely review and verification of WSR/ DSSR

Timeliness and accuracy of draft audit reports


Education and Work Experience

Bachelor’s or HND degree in Finance, Accounting or any related discipline from a reputable tertiary institution

Postgraduate/professional qualification in a related discipline will be an advantage

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role 


Skills and Competencies

In-depth knowledge of internal control processes and procedures

Good knowledge of organizational policies and procedures across departments.

Attention to detail and accuracy 

High level of integrity, responsibility and accountability 

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools and relevant finance and accounting applications
