A consulting firm seeks qualified candidates to fill his role


Reports to: Field Service Supervisor


Job Summary:

Installation, repair, and maintenance off-site and as and when required in our Workshops, of Gas engines. The ability to work with minimal supervision.



  • Completes repairs within target times and without rework following all published procedures and policies
  • Ability to accurately carry out fault diagnostics based on Customer description of the problem
  • Accurate and timely completion of Service Documentation, meeting Minimum Claims Documentation Requirements (MCDR)
  • Highlight ‘up sell’ opportunities to the Customer and ensure that any ‘rejected’ opportunities are evident on the Service Worksheet before Customer signature
  • Correct, timely and accurate submission of Timesheets/Service Worksheets
  • When required, disseminate knowledge and experience to other Service personnel
  • Undertakes training in line with skill requirements and completes all Intranet Training
  • Ensures tool kit meets ‘minimum requirements’ and Company supplied tooling is maintained to the appropriate standards and is kept secure
  • Comply with Company and Government legislation regarding H & S (use of PPE etc)
  • Comply with Company and Government environmental legislation
  • Maintain work area and Service Van cleanliness

  • Paper in Process Timesheet (timeliness & accuracy)

  • Training completed plan Technician Efficiency Training results
  • Nil Loses or theft from company supplied toolkits



  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience diagnosing and repairing of Gas engines 
  • Mechanical experience 
  • Troubleshooting experience 
  • Engine Mechanical Theory and Troubleshooting
  • HND in (Mechanical) – Essential 
  • Must be able to motivate people at all levels is Essential 
  • Technical knowledge gained in a similar industry is Essential 
  • Mechanical experience is Desirable 
  • Mechanical Theory and Troubleshooting is Desirable 
  • Computer Literacy – Essential MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
