Reporting Line: General Manager – Nigeria 

Contract Period: Fixed-Term contract 


Job Purpose

The Project Manager is responsible for the implementation and management of a world-class skills development and vocational training project for local artisans. The Project Manager will be responsible for the end to end delivery of the project and will be accountable for Customer Satisfaction and Profitability of the project. The role would involve planning, reviewing and corrective action planning for the project, managing varied teams, building relationships with key stakeholders in the client environment, monitoring and reporting on project impact, and sustaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The Project Manager will also be responsible to manage the P&L of the project, by ensuring targets are met, expenses are minimized and manage the budget according to the approved budget plan. 


Internal & External Interactions

Internal: Divisional Head, Country CEO’s, Functional Heads

External: Private Sector Client in the Real Estate Development sector (plus 

the potential government, non-profit, CBO and other stakeholders)


  • Key Responsibilities
  • Create a plan for successful implementation of the project within set deadlines and profitability targets
  • Identify, acquire, groom and maintain a high quality workforce for the project working closely with the HR department 
  • Oversee Train-the-Trainer and certification of the project personnel deployed for the training and development project
  • Oversee the creation of curriculum and other such support material required for successful delivery of the project
  • Design / oversee the development of world-class practical assessments including trainee monitoring and audit post-training (and the delivery of high impact training report and recommendations to client)
  • Work closely with the client teams to schedule and support the project including the identification of on-the-job / on-site training opportunities according to work schedules
  • Build relationships with critical senior management stakeholders in the client and get their ownership of the project 
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the project
  • Constantly seek opportunities for up selling / cross selling our range of products with the client. Once identified, closely work with the internal teams to submit a proposal and acquire the order.
  • Develop and monitor key performance lead and lag indicators with an emphasis on creating improved performance through training
  • Continuously monitor and solicit feedback on all training programs and materials to ensure accuracy, relevance and effectiveness 
  • Manage and report project financials by conducting a comprehensive budget and monitor closely the project's financial and operational performance in conjunction with the approved profitability plan 
  • Make financially sound business decisions, with a key focus on identifying cost saving opportunities and ROI 
  • Facilitate the identification of or provide leads to potential business opportunities through client referrals or partnerships to be used to leverage long-term business interests
  • Maintain the highest level of professional and ethical standards 


Candidate Requirements

  • Qualifications / knowledge:
  • Undergraduate degree with post-graduate degree strongly preferred  
  • Engineering degree an advantage




  • Excellent presentation/facilitation skills
  • Ability to manage and communicate effectively with diverse international teams 
  • Consulting level presentation creation skills; ability to make effective, high-level presentations to senior     client personnel 
  • Proven experience successfully managing large-scale, complex projects 
  • Pleasing personality with an ability to relate to people and build effective relationships
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and with demanding clients
  • Fluency in English required; Kiswahili an advantage
  • Outstanding academic achievement – advanced degrees preferred 



  • 7+ years of experience in the construction, contracting, property management or similar industry/sector, OR
  • 7+ years of experience in project management for youth development and training programs in an international context 
  • Experience in vocational, artisan level skills training preferred
  • Experience overseeing or personally delivering curriculum/content development 
  • Experience designing or overseeing the design of world-class assessments and monitoring/auditing trainees (including delivering post training reports) 
  • Previous Master trainer experience an asset
